Content Feeds
What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) are standardised web feeds which are used to publish content both on an external website or RSS newsreader by the originating source. For example, the BBC provides an extensive selection of RSS feeds allowing countless other websites to display the latest news headlines. These are regularly updated. The talentmapTM website also provides RSS feeds and instructions on how to use these are detailed below. Content may include blogs, audio and video which are all displayed in a standardised format.
How to use RSS Feeds
To begin, you will need a newsreader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and allows you to view new content posted by the originating site. Some of these newsreaders are web based allowing you to view the feeds from any location with Internet access, whilst others come in the form of downloadable software which you install onto your desktop PC, Mac or mobile device. Once you have set up your newsreader, you can select which talentmapTM feeds you want to receive. Simply select the appropriate RSS feed from the list below.
Finding a Newsreader
There is a large selection of newsreaders available, including Microsoft Outlook which allows the user to view RSS Feeds. Others include Feedzilla, NewsGator and Microsoft Live. However, to find a newsreader to suit you, please use an Internet search engine.
