New resource launched to end confusion over where to find talent, skills and education training.
The latest initiative to develop and improve the skills of the nation’s workforce is now available to employer organisations across the UK.
The innovative framework and online tool called talentmap, has made the previously confusing task of how and where to get skills advice much more streamlined and easily accessible. One particularly appealing aspect of talentmap is that it is a resource for all sectors and companies, from SMEs to Blue Chip companies. Whatever the size of a business, planning for and finding the correct skills when employing new staff, and providing new skills and training current employees are both integral for any company to grow and prosper. With this in mind, the ease of use and practicality of talentmap ensures it will be at the forefront for improving the skill levels of the UK’s workforce as it hopes to increase in productivity and break into an economic up-turn.
talentmap is both a strategic framework for planning and a supporting practical web-tool to help
find public funded skills and training information and guidance. talentmap has been developed by
the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) with its employer organisation partners and
governments of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Sir Mike Rake (Chairman of UKCES) has
long believed that all the varying initiatives of skills education and employment needed to be
collated and simplified to maximise its effect for employers. This is exactly what talentmap
achieves, by identifying and making skill support available to all age groups (pre-school to
adult), all companies (SMEs to Blue Chip) and all skill abilities (general to specialist) all in an
easy to use planning framework and website.
